< Arabic al-ǧayb. The term elgeib is very rare in translation literature, but appears often in one early text: Adelard of Bath’s translation of al-Ḫwārizmī’s Tables (Zīǧ al-Sindhind, see Suter 1914). The Latin term is not documented in MLW, DMLBS and LLNMA.
